Ms. Daniels

Welcome to 6th grade math!

Each student should come to class with a pencil.  I do provide pencils if needed, however, if a student comes prepared, they will be able to get down to the business of learning as soon as they enter the classroom.

Students are welcome to bring the following:

Math folder for any work sent home.  This way you can review the assignments and grades of your child's work.

Dry Erase Marker.  We use individual white boards often, and students often prefer to use their own marker.

Our classroom is always in need of items, and would appreciate any Donations that are shared with us.  Some ideas include:  Kleenex (Tissue Box), colored pencils, and loose leaf paper,

Students will receive homework EVERY MONDAY.  Completed homework will be collected each Friday.

Late Work that is not associated with an absence will NOT earn full credit. It will however, be collected for a partial grade.

If a student misses work due to an absence, it is the student’s responsibility to acquire the classwork and/or notes they missed. Additional time (each day the student was absent) and full credit will be offered to the student when making up the work. I know that situations out of our control can occur, so exceptions will be made for those cases.

A Weekly Assessment is given every Friday.  Additional assessments will be given at the end of each Unit.

Knowing Math Facts is extremely important to a student's mathematic success.  Therefore, a weekly Math Fact assessment is given every Thursday and a grade is taken.  Please work with your child at home on the multiplication and division math facts so that they know them without hesitation.
