8th Grade History Mr. Yost

Mr. Yost's 8th Grade History Class

Hello, my name is Charles Yost and it is my pleasure to be teaching 8th grade Social Studies this year! I have just recently moved to Arizona from Pennsylvania where I attended college at Kutztown University, where I earned a bachelors degree in secondary education with a concentration in Social Studies. While in Pennsylvania, I was employed by the Catasauqua Area School District where I also served as the JV baseball coach. During my time at Villago I have been involved in the many extracurricular programs such as the 7th and 8th grade baseball coach, 7th and 8th grade softball coach. I am also the S.S. Department Chair at Villago as well as the Athletic Director.

I am extremely excited about this school year. I look forward to working with your children on a daily basis in order to create a responsible and effective citizen. In order to do this I will work closely with the other teachers in my content area and collaborate with them in order for your child to be successful. I am always available, so please feel free to contact me via phone, email, or if needed making an appointment to setup a conference.

For my class, students will need a a folder or three ringed binder, pen/pencil, and colored pencils for various assignments and projects throughout the year.

During the first week of school I will be sending home an academic course overview along with a newsletter with your child that needs to be signed and returned to me. This will aide you in understanding the layout of my class as well as what is expected of your child.
